Seeing that there is a large number of parents who want to provide their children with a bilingual education, we set out to enable just that. As language teachers we realised that there is a stigma about learning languages and that many monolingual students think they are not good at languages. By learning the language as another vehicle to function with, they don't have to study the language but rather learn to function with it from an early age. This has a number of benefits, and bilingualism is just one of them.
We are a team of educators that work to deliver the Australian Curriculum and the Early Years Learning Framework to children in different languages. We aim to immerse children in a safe environment where they feel comfortable using the target language. We have experience raising children, including our own, in our native languages and we also have experience as educators. We are passionate about what we do because we know how important it is for children to grow up knowing their heritage and languages.
We know this project is important for many communities but also to the Australian community. In 2021 it is not possible to talk about global citizenship without dominating at least two languages. Being bilingual makes it easier to learn other languages, and also has proven cognitive benefits. In addition, it has been scientifically proven that bilingual brains are healthier in the short and long term.
We are passionate about giving this gift to the next generations.
